As the world is preparing for the big olympics showdown in Rio de Janerio, one extremely important event in the swimming world this year was the LEN European Swimming Championships . Hosted at the amazing London Olympic Aquatics Arena more than 1000 swimmers from 48 different European swimming federations got together for almost 300 swimming heats in a week of fierce competitions. Spiideo was there to cover it all of course, with high performance real time video analysis!
In the same way like last last year’s championship event in Netanya, Spiideo together with LEN (Ligue Européenne de Natation) provided the highly appreciated possibility for coaches and athletes to immediately after each race automatically get access to detailed, high quality videos of the races to support advanced performance video analysis.
This time even more cameras were used. In total 12 pan-tilt-zoom cameras with high resolution / high fps were covering every angle of the swimmers performances in the pool. This enabled coaches and video analysts to focus all their attention on the swimmers and the real live action, and work with the detailed analysis of the race without the hassle of rigging cameras, tripods, cables, copying files etc.
A grand total of 297 heats with 3412 videos were recorded, with 180 hours of swimming!
That’s it from London for this time, next stop is 43rd Arena European Junior Swimming Championships in Hungary beginning of July. See you there!
