How 350+ D1 soccer programs are gaining a competitive edge with standardized video and data

As the National Video Exchange provider for NCAA Division I women’s soccer, Spiideo provides 350+ programs and 9,000 student-athletes with easy access to live and historic footage, and data for player development, scouting and game preparedness

The challenge

NCAA Division I is the primary pathway to the National Women’s Soccer League and produces more than 90% of all US Women’s national team players. However, with more than 9,000 players competing across the division, inefficiencies in video capture, sharing, and analysis limited the time coaches had to turn footage into feedback.

Likewise, with over 350 programs of various sizes and budgets competing across conferences, access to resources and equipment can be inconsistent, putting some student-athletes at a disadvantage.

The solution

The Intercollegiate Women’s Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) set out to develop a centralized platform for NCAA Division I women’s soccer programs to efficiently share live and historic game film, and access advanced data for analysis.

Following a comprehensive review, Spiideo was selected as the official National Video Exchange provider, recognized for its established presence in the women’s game as the NWSL’s AI capture and analytics provider. What sets it apart is its ability to provide video capture, exchange, analysis, and live replay through a single integrated system.

Coaches can assess opponents, refine tactics, scout talent, and provide visual, objective feedback that pushes players to reach the professional level.

Supporting a wide range of Spiideo and third-party camera options, institutions can share and access footage without changing their existing setup. Games are automatically uploaded and instantly accessible through the exchange, providing timely access to pro-grade footage across the division.

Video analysis has always been such an integral component of our game for scouting and player development. While Spiideo has been a leader in this space the enhanced capabilities will provide our staff and players even better access, quality, and dependability.

The impact

Accessibility & efficiency
Footage is uploaded, accessed, and shared with ease across programs, between staff, and with players, reducing the administrative workload. Coaches spend less time managing files and more time focusing on match preparation, scouting, and player development.

Player development
Easy access to high-quality footage helps players to understand their performances, maintain high standards, and identify areas for improvement. Early exposure to advanced tools prepares student-athletes for life at the highest level.

Unified workflows
Video capture, exchange, analysis, and replay are combined in one platform, eliminating the need to learn and manage multiple systems. Combining video with Spiideo’s advanced analytics and data tools, coaches and players can uncover insights to refine tactics and raise performance levels.

After 6 years of using Spiideo, I’m still impressed by how the platform continues to evolve and improve. Their commitment to innovation has made a real impact on the way we analyze matches, develop players, and prepare our team every day.

Why Women's College Soccer Needs Standardized Video Intelligence

The women’s game is evolving rapidly, and shared infrastructure has become essential to sustaining that momentum. When 350+ D1 programs operate on a unified platform, the gains compound: scouting sharpens, player development accelerates, operations run smoothly, and the sport gains the visibility and credibility it deserves.

Spiideo’s National Video Exchange gives programs the standardized foundation to compete, collaborate, and grow — not just as individual programs, but as a collective force raising the standard of women’s college soccer.

Spiideo's commitment to innovation and technology gives coaches better tools to maximize time, improve teaching, and continue elevating player development.
