Creating a Transformational Youth Soccer Environment - SUSA Academy
For institutions like SUSA Academy – which runs soccer programs for boys and girls from age two through 18 – success isn’t measured in wins, trophies, or prize money.
The goal? Developing talent, building confidence, and helping young soccer players take the next step. Each year, more than 80 of SUSA’s young athletes progress to the college level.
Playing a key role in the academy’s success is Spiideo. With access to pro-grade video capture, analysis, and broadcasting tools, coaches can deliver visual feedback, encourage self-learning, and help players showcase their potential.
Assisting coaches in the classroom
Every field is equipped with three Spiideo cameras – one on the center line, and one behind each goal – allowing coaches to capture sessions from multiple vantage points.
Assisted by Spiideo’s industry-leading AutoFollow technology, which automatically captures a panoramic view of the field, and with all footage instantly uploaded to the cloud, coaches can focus on what matters most: analyzing, planning, and teaching.
Footage is used across weekly meetings, where staff prepare for the next game, and in tactical classroom sessions with the squad. With clips enhanced using the various drawing, telestration, and data overlay features available within Spiideo Perform’s presentation tool, the platform provides powerful visual feedback that keeps young players engaged.
What shape are they playing, and are they playing direct or indirect? Are we pressing high or sitting in a medium block? Spiideo has put the emphasis back on football, which has been crucial for us.

Simplifying the analysis process
While players understand the benefits of video and are eager to review their performances, the reality is that resources are limited and SUSA’s coaching staff can’t dedicate hours to individual film sessions. Self-learning is an invaluable part of the process, but young players want to be out on the pitch, and convincing them to sift through hours of footage is a tough sell.
That’s where Spiideo AutoData comes into play. Used by every team across the academy, matches are automatically broken down into data points, tagged, and clipped. Players can filter by tags by their name and effortlessly find their highlights – giving athletes ownership of their development while keeping them engaged, focused, and motivated to improve.
Showcasing player potential
Every event is livestreamed through CloudStudio – Spiideo Play’s cloud-based, AI-assisted production studio – allowing friends and family to watch their loved ones play. Unlocking various pay-per-view, sponsorship, and advertising opportunities, it has also become a valuable revenue stream for the academy.
After the final whistle, players and parents can dive into the recording, find those reel-worthy moments, and create highlight videos to showcase their skill and potential.
But it’s not just families tuning in. The academy also provides access to college coaches unable to attend. At a recent college showcase, 72 additional recruiters scouted players remotely – dramatically expanding the academy’s reach beyond its local market.
With SUSA Academy’s goal to equip every athlete with the tools, experience, and exposure they need to reach the top – and Spiideo’s full range of analysis, data, and broadcasting tools are providing the assist.
Spiideo Play has allowed us to expand our recruiting map way wider than it would be without live streaming capability.
